What happened to the japanese people's pets during world war 2 when they were locked up?

im doing a report for english about the japanese's pets during world war two..and i cant find anything on it..if anyone could give me a website or if anyone knows about this and can tell me some things about it, i would be very thank ful and it would help me out alot. thank you :)
