Am attracted to a girl for a long time please help how to come over it?

Am a guy 16 years old and i live a unsatisfied life with not much friends and of course no girl friends well i look good but i haven't mastered my skills of approaching a women yet because many have said that just a mere look of me could get girls but i don't try because i have been quite shy, good and kind always in the past so its kind of hard to get to change things anyway so the problem here is i have been attracted to this girl for the past 5 months nearly half a year i donno why its been like that but i couldnt take the eyes of her actually she is a friend of mine in facebook i really never met her in real but i do know she came from the same school now she is doing her college first year and am in 12th i know it sounds stupid but she is just a year elder and we look like we are made for each other the thing thats bothering me is its been 6 months and i donno what to do she added me as a friend because i look hot since she only adds friends selectively and she has a lot of friends mostly girls and guys are less, the reason now i don't why she added me i think its because of my looks, i have even sent her some 1 or 2 messages a long time back and a few weeks before which i never had a reply she never replies but she has me as her friends and also since i have never chated with her as once i did which i flunked which is like i said 'hai' and she gave a '?' lol , now i don't what should i do? should i go bold and ask her about whats up why u dont talk its been a long time i added ya and u don't talk or like how start the conversation its going to be a message which she will read later...so i would really like to what to do to this finish this problem like see what she says or get over it ?? please help i really don't know much about relationships....thanks..
