Can someone explain me, what is tank abandonment? is it good or bad?

tank abandonment is usually a procedure done to a buried tank the tank is pumped out and it is then filled with sand or a slurry solution. it is accepted by mostlocal and state municipalities. once done you will get a certificate which you keep with the deed of the house.the other solution is tank removal which is more costly because if oil is found in the soil you will have an expensive cleanup.
