Am I crazy to date a drug addict?

Seven years is an incredibly long time, and he should be very proud of that. Meth and heroin are two of the hardest drugs to quit. He sounds like a strong person. Now the downside, I was clean for over a year from crack cocaine and prescription drugs, yet still relapsed. I am now back in the recovering stage. My point being, that once your an addict your always an addict. That doesn't mean that he is going to steal your bottle of pain killers that you get from a surgery, it DOES mean however that it's going to cross his mind. So my point being, your not crazy to date him, but you definitely need to keep it in the back of your mind what his history is, not in a judging sense, but in the sense that if you really care about this man, you can help him stay on the right track. You get stronger everyday in being able to fight off your addiction, but that part of you is never going to disappear completely.
