Can you homeschool in "The Sims 2?"?

I absolutely love to play my The Sims 2. One thing struck me, though: I can't find a way to homeschool. In the Sims 1, you can keep your children at home and have them read books from the bookshelf. Now, there is no choice but to send them to school. This kind of messes up several of my scenarios (for instance, I have one neighborhood that has different periods of history contained in it; it wouldn't be accurate to have a 15th century child going to school in a bus :P).
